BEFORE, this garden was a concrete yard. I have transformed this tiny space to include an entertainment area with enough room for the children to play.

A small space doesn't mean that you have to compromise on what you use your garden for. By screening off the decking with a raised planter, the children have the back of the garden to play in, while the family has an entertainment area with table and chairs close to the house. There is a shed for important storage and a tree house that doubles as a log store underneath. Planting is soft and tall to screen the 'rooms' created in the space. There is also a tiny half-barrow pond for wildlife and trained fruit trees. The garden is now an important place where the family can be together.
